Examination & Promotion

Examination & Promotion

As per the guidelines of C.B.S.E., the school follows a uniform pattern of continuous and comprehensive evaluation system of education for all classes(which includes both scholastic and co-scholastic areas) of learner.

Scholastic Areas include :

  • Hindi
  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Social Science
  • Sanskrit

Co- Scholastic areas includes attributes such as life skills, attitudes and values, sports and games as well as Co-curricular activities.

Each student is evaluated on the basis of the entire year’s performance, hence the importance of regularity in attendance and work is essential.

The evaluation system has been broadly classified as follows:

  • 1. There is no formal examination for Classes P.NUR. to II. The teacher will evaluate the students through continuous and comprehensive evaluation [CCE]. The testing can be done simultaneously while teaching or separately.
  • 2. Most of the time the students will not be aware that they are being tested.
  • 3. There will be minimum 8 cycles of CCE.
  • 4. One cycle of CCE means that all the students of the class are tested in all the competencies.
  • 5. They should obtain at least ‘C’ grade. If a child gets ‘D` grade in some competencies, the teacher should repeat the cycle.
  • 6. It is therefore recommended that tentatively 10 cycles of CCE should be planned in advance, so as to ensure that at least 8 cycles are completed by all the students securing at least Grade C in all the competencies by March

For Class III to IX

Each term consist of Formative Assessment (FA) which includes (one pen paper test and three activity based assessment) and summative assessment (SA) at the end of each term.

Formative Assessment is carried out throughout the year.

Total : Formative Assessment FA 1+ FA 2+FA 3 + FA 4 = 40%

Summative Assessment SA1 + SA2 = 60%

  • (i) Formative Assessment (FA):
  • Formative Assessment is carried out throughout the year formally and informally in a supportive environment.

  • (ii) Summative Assessment (SA) :
  • SA is carried out at the end of each term

SA 1 – (WRITTEN) will be held in the month of September

SA 2 – (WRITTEN) will be held in the month of March
